Global Warming - Crimes Against Humanity for Doubting What’s Not Happening? »

Leave to a “Global Warming” alarmist to reccomend charges of “Crimes Against Humanity” for spreading doubt about something that is not happening.

Put oil firm chiefs on trial, says leading climate change scientist | Environment | The Guardian

James Hansen, one of the world’s leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.

We know how important it is for the “Global Warming” or man made “Climate Change” folks to keep the dream alive because what else could they blame the death of Boy Scouts or rotten tomatoes or a “future increase in wildfires” on?

Well at least they will still be able to create games instructing children when die.

Oil Spills and Katrina - Think Progress Lies Again »

Think Proress is citing oil spills from Hurricane Katrina as proof Conservative are making “false claims” regarding the safety of offshore drilling.

Think Progress cleverly and deceitfully omits the fact that not one of the spills they mention, or any spill during or after Katrina, came from an offshore oil rig or drilling operation!

Even Think Progress’s own links point out the fact that the spills came from “unpurged pipelines” and “onshore storage facilities”.

Think Progress » Conservatives Echo McCain’s False Claim That Katrina Caused No Oil Spill Damage

The truth is that Hurricane Katrina caused oil spillage so significant it was clearly visible from space. It also wreaked environmental havock near the scale of the 1989 Exxon Valdez disaster.

Spills from hurricanes stain coast With gallery | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Hurricane Katrina’s floodwaters unleashed 1 million gallons of oil from one of the massive storage tanks at Murphy Oil’s nearby refinery. The spill spread over 1 square mile and stained 1,700 homes, making it one of the largest environmental spills to occur in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Would be nice if the clever folks at “Think Progress” knew the difference between an Oil Rig and an Oil Refinery or Oil Drilling and Oil Refining…..I’m just saying.

Al Gore - Using More Energy Than Ever »

Al Gore doing all he can to help Global Warming….INCREASE?

Seems the Gore-icle not only hasn’t lowered his use of energy but he has INCREASED his use by 10%!
Thanks to Sistertoldjah

Tennessee Center for Policy Research

In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month –1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations – at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

I am wondering what amount Gore pulls off the grid and what he generates on-site (solar, wind…)?

More Facts About China Drilling off Cuba »

Ok, if ya dont like ANWR, how’ bout the ’shelf? (like China’s gonna do?) | SwampBubbles

in 2005, China’s Sinopec signed an agreement with the Cuban government to jointly produce oil in Cuba off the coast of Pinar del Río. Ok so let’s get this straight. The governments of China and Cuba enter into a production sharing agreement … what exactly does that mean? This is when the Cuban government awards the execution of exploration and production activities to an international oil company like Sinopec. The contractor bears the mineral and financial risk of the initiative and, when successful, recovers capital expenditure and costs incurred in the year (cost oil) by means of a share of production.

So now, for your reading pleasure (and Mel Martinez’s) is a timeline of China’s oil exploration efforts in Cuba. This is from the World Security Institute …

Cheney China Cuba Oil »

The Nutroots and the Democrats are up in arms that Dick Cheny referenced George Will saying that “China is drilling for oil off Cuba”.

George Will

Drilling is underway 60 miles off Florida. The drilling is being done by China, in cooperation with Cuba, which is drilling closer to South Florida than U.S. companies are.

China has had contracts for offshore drilling for four years, China has been shipping drilling equipment to Cuba since 2006 and china has drilled off the coast of Cuba yet somehow the Democrats and an “energy expert” from Miami says Cheney is lying and using “scare tactics”.

Democrats like Speaker Pelosi are crying foul that Cheney referenced Will’s article

Republican leaders – including Vice President Cheney – have recently claimed that China is drilling for oil off the coast of Cuba “60 miles off the coast of Florida.” But the facts show China does not have a deepwater drilling contract in Cuba.

“China is not drilling in Cuba’s Gulf of Mexico waters, period…,” said Jorge Piñon, an energy expert at the University of Miami’s Center for Hemispheric Policy…

“Piñon, who supports oil and gas exploration, said he met with several congressional offices Wednesday about the China-Cuba connection. He said he told them: ‘If you guys want to use this as a scare tactic to lift the moratorium on drilling off the west coast of Florida, at least be factual, be correct.’ They didn’t do their homework.” [6/12/08]

Perhaps Pelosi and Pinon should be a litle more honest and “do their homework”.

Even Florida democrats are aware of the China / Cuba oil drilling and exploration partnership.

Few Americans paid much attention last year when Cuban President Fidel Castro announced China would help explore potentially large oil reserves off Cuba’s northwest coast - not far from the Florida Keys.

But now - with gas prices climbing above $3 a gallon - the prospect of China drilling near the United States has become a hot political issue as two of the world’s largest economies vie for new sources of energy.

Some members of Congress warn that China and other countries could lock up oil supplies at a time when U.S. companies are barred from doing business with Cuba because of a 43-year-old trade embargo.

“We sit here watching China exploit a valuable energy resource within eyesight of the U.S. coast,” said. Sen. Larry Craig, an Idaho Republican.

granma.cu - Oil production contract with Chinese enterprise

And because the left loves Aljazeera so much I’ll include a link to their noting China drilling for oil off the coast of Cuba.

Al Jazeera English - Archive - Cuba To Let China Drill For Offshore Oil

Vice President Cheney’s office has already pulled back from the comment which I don’t really understand.

He cited his source as columnist George Will, who last week wrote: “Drilling is under way 60 miles off Florida. The drilling is being done by China, in cooperation with Cuba, which is drilling closer to South Florida than U.S. companies are.”

Congressional Democrats pounced on the vice president’s remarks and were backed up by independent energy experts, who called the assertion hyperbole at best and a falsehood at worst.

Cheney’s office said in a statement to The Associated Press that the vice president had erred.

Just for a few second I’ll take the side of the Nutroots and Pelosi but I’ll ask how many times have the Democrats walked up to a microphone and gleefully cite a false and misleading NY Times or Time article to bolster their defeatist agenda? Haditha anyone.

Global Warming Alarmists Telling Kids When To Die »

Forget Al Gore’s carbon offset scam, now the Global Warming folks are telling kids they should just die.

The ABC (Australian Broadcast Corporation) has devised a nice little game telling kids when they would like to see them die.

Hey Kids when you’re done just click the cute little skull and crossbones and find out when we would like you to DIE !

Global Warming Hoax: Prepare To Be Disgusted - They`re Encouraging Kids To Die

When a collectivist thinker believes they are saving the world they are perfectly willing to sacrifice a few children for the good of the collective. Every socialist government / leader has done that throughout history. Who cares if a few children die if its for the good of the group / movement / revolution / ideal / religion / planet. The individual means nothing to them.

To see this hosted by a large broadcasting company is very disturbing.

Professor Fred Singer Speaks on Global Warming »

Remember, Fred Singer was correct when Carl Sagen was wrong.

NZCPD Forum

In the past few years there has been increasing concern about global climate change on the part of the media, politicians, and the public. It has been stimulated by the idea that human activities may influence global climate adversely and that action is required on the part of governments to do something about this problem.

My purpose here is to show that this concern is misplaced, that human activities are not influencing the global climate in a perceptible way, and that, in any case, very little can be done about global climate change. It is unstoppable; we should not even try to influence it. Climate will continue to change, as it always has in the past, both warming and cooling on different time scales and for different reasons, completely unrelated to any human action. I will also argue that –should it occur — a modest warming is on the whole beneficial.

Global Warming = Reduction of Hurricanes? »

The “Human Caused” Global Warming “scientists” are morphing and twisting the data anyway possible to fit the Global Warming agenda.

Warmer planet may mean fewer Atlantic hurricanes

Contrary to the widespread view that a warming world will bring more hurricanes, a controversial new study suggests the number of cyclones could actually drop in the North Atlantic.

———

Surprisingly, the model simulated fewer tropical storms as the ocean warmed, and fewer hurricanes. By the end of this century, it predicted, the Atlantic will see a drop in tropical storms of 27%, and a drop in hurricanes of 18%.

“This study does not support the idea there is a large increasing trend [in hurricanes] due to greenhouse warming,” says Knutson.

As the data suggests the planet may actually be cooling you are seeing a shift in methodology as to make any change in weather a consequence of “Human Caused” Global Warming or as they now call it “Climate Change” because “Climate Change” covers Global Cooling.

Ehanol and The Left’s Dishonesty »

So typical of the Left to create a problem and blame it on others especially when “others” can include juicy chum bites like “Enron” and “Agribusiness”!

Sadly the left is trying to erase history again….

Sadly, No! » While I was sleeping

It has to do with the current crazy price spiral the world is going through on essential commodities like food and energy. It turns out, if you dig through enough obscure news sources like Senate subcommitte reports or evil communist trade rags, you can find bits and pieces that, if combined with some decent investigative journalism, would probably yield a story about how guys like the Enron execs who were behind the rolling blackouts in California a few years ago are now thinking bigger, and have stuck their bottom-feeding jaws into the international wealth streams that are the world’s food and oil supplies.

The left / nutroots never let the facts get in the way.

The Left on Ethanol | OpenMarket.org

As the ethanol disaster gets more and more apparent, the liberal left is trying to wriggle out of any responsibility for it, blaming it on Bush and agribusiness. Now, I agree that the President and the rent-seeking giants like Archer Daniels Midland bear a large part of the blame, and several environmental pressure groups have consistently been against corn ethanol (but have put very little of their considerable lobbying weight behind opposing ethanol expansion measures) but it was actually the liberal left’s conversion on the issue that tipped the balance. At one point, Sen. Clinton and the California Senators, for instance, were staunch opponents of ethanol, but as the demands for decarbonization gathered steam, they switched. The terrible energy act of 2007 that massively expanded ethanol subsidies was passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress, after all.

Enviro Wackos Go After “Fat People” »

The Food Police ! Are calorie offsets next?

Fat is an environmental issue - earth - 16 May 2008 - New Scientist Environment

Obese people consume 18% more food energy than lean people, researchers have calculated.

“It’s just due to being fatter,” says Phil Edwards of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Edwards and his colleague Phil Roberts say that the way to reduce calorie demands is simple – more exercise.

The researchers calculated the hypothetical difference in food consumption between 1 billion obese and 1 billion lean people.

There were two main components: how much food people need to eat simply to keep their bodies ticking over, even if they don’t do any exercise; and how much people consume in typical activities of daily living.

I wondered if the Enviro-Wackos who are now targeting “Fat People” factored in the amount of fossil fuel burned in order to supply the energy to run their treadmills?
